After utterly flop stop milk supply call, Alpesh held with 150 for attempting march

Ahmedabad: After his utterly flop ‘stop milk supply agitation’, community based outfit Thakor Sena’s self styled president Alpesh Thakor and around 150 of his supporters were detained near Sabarmati Ashram here today while they had started an on-foot march to reach Gandhinagar and protest on the issue of loan-waiver of farmers of Gujarat.

He has not obtained the necessary police permission for the around 25 km long on-foot march, which many political observers see as his attempt of face-saving after the utter failure of recent stop milk agitation and ultimatums.

Ranip PI Vishnu Patel said that Thakor along with 150 of his supporters were detained under the section 68 of the Gujarat Police Act. ‘They were nabbed near Sabarmati Ashram soon after their march started. As they have only been detained as a preventive measure and not arrested, they will be released later,’ the PI said.
