Congress MLAs to be taken back to Gujarat on August 7 to allow them to celebrate Raksha Bandhan

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki today addressing media here said 44 Congress MLAs who are at present kept at Eagleton resort near Bangalore are to be taken back to Gujarat on August 7 so that they can celebrate Raksha Bandhan with their family on that day. The MLAs will cast votes in Rajya Sabha election on August 8 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. State Congress had flown its MLAs to Congress ruled Karnataka in order to prevent them from poaching by ruling BJP after six of its MLAs resigned and 7 others clearly indicated they were parting ways from Congress party. Congress needs support of 45 MLAs to win Rajya Sabha election. Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel has been fielded by Congress for the fifth time as candidate.
