Diversion of subsidized urea to industry; 3 held in Vadodara, sent on remand

Vadodara: In a fresh case of diversion of subsidized urea meant for farmers to chemical industries as row material, police in Vadodara has arrested three persons.
Police Commissioner Manoj Shashidhar said, one Rizwan Iqbal Mansuri had taken a godown on rent about two months ago in Maruti Estate near Golden chokdi on Halol toll road.he would purchase subsidized urea meant for farmers at higher rate and refill it in technical grade marked bags. he would later sell it to chemical factories at three-time higher rate.
Police recovered 1,039 bags of urea, repacking machinery, empty bags with technical grade marking, Rs 10 lakh truck and Rs 3 lakh Hyundai I10 car. Police arrested Rizwan Mansuri, Ishaq Mamji and Tahir Bhagaria and got remands.
Tahir Siddiq Bhagariya who owns Sahkar Charitable Trust mandli in Godhra used to bring his quota of subsidized urea to Vadodara. He would also collect urea from other mandlis and sell it to industrial units in Nandesari and other places.
