Mahesana:

Lady DySP rank police officer and daughter of former DIG D G Vanazara, Ms Manjita Vanzara was today attacked and injured by the supporters of a criminal Hanif Kadarbhai in Kasba area of Kadi this afternoon.

Ms Vanzara, SDPO Mahesana, who had taken the criminal Hanif for panchnama in connection with an incident of loot in which he was accused in Kasba area when the incident happened.
The vehicle of the lady officer was also damaged in stone pelting by the unruly mob of the supporters of the criminal.
SP Mahesana Chaitanya Mandalik said that among those gathered for panchnama were supporters of Hanif who instigated them to attack the lady officer.

‘After the incident of assault Ms Vanzara has been admitted to private Bhagyoday hospital in Kadi with fracture in hand,’ the SP said,

He said that attempts were on to nab the culprits.
