Vadodara:A Chinese delegation gave presentation on tram project before the Vadodara Municipal Corporation(VMC) officials.
Chinese company CRRC Sifang Co Ltd gave presentation before the Municipal Commissioner, Mayor and others and proposed to start tram service on possible routes such as Airport – Chakli circle, Vadsar, Tarsali, Vaghodia Road, 25 km long ring road or Vishwamitri river front.
The Chinese delegation was anchored by Por(Vadodara) based Ashish Patel who is the CEO of Hindustan Fiber, a company that built Mahamana Express coaches.
The company officials in their presentation told VMC that tram service would not require separate lane like BRTS or Metro. A small track on regular road would be enough to run electric tram. There are 8 options in tram design ranging from 128 to 309 passenger capacity.
