Bhavnagar:
The bodies of 5 black-bucks ( a specie of deer ) were found near a chemical factory in Bhal area around 18 km from Bhavnagar city in Gujarat today.
A forest officer said that the bodies of the black-bucks have been sent for post-mortem. Bodies of around a dozen birds were also found near the spot where some small water bodies were situated. It is suspected that the beasts and the birds have died owing to presence of some poisonous affluent from a nearby chemical factory.
The assistance of FSL team is also being taken to determine the cause of death.
Notably, the Blackbuck National Park is situated close to the spot in Velavadar under Valbhipur taluka of Bhavnagar district. Large number of black bucks can be seen roaming around in the area.
Actor Salman Khan was jailed in the killing of black-buck in neighboring Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, the district administration has sought a detailed report about the death of the black-bucks today from the forest department. Strict action would be taken against whoever found responsible for it.
