Tent City at Statue of Unity site to be powered by floating solar panels, 100 staffers to be on job

Bharuch: A tent city has been set up next to pond – 3 and pond – 4 at Statue of Unity site in total 70,000 square meter area with facilities such as power supply, road, drinking water.
Transportation to tent city from Vadodara is planned by the government.
Pond – 4 tent city has 50 tents in 20,000 square meter area. Pond 3 tent city has 200 tents in 50,000 square meter area.
Tent city will be powered by green energy for which 250 kw floating solar panels are planned. Organic waste converter will produce bio-fertilizer from waste in tent city.
A quiz on Sardar Patel’s life and works has been installed in reception area of tent city.
BVG India Pvt Ltd will employ 100 staffers to keep around 2 lakh square meter area around Statue of Unity clean.
Tent city will create around 90 jobs for local youths.
Trained guide service will also be available at Statue of Unity complex.
In just one month, 80 professional guides are created. Of them 60 guides will have National Institute of Fashion Technology(NIFT) designed uniforms.
14 of total 60 guides are female. 37 guides are from Narmada district while 14 are from Chhota Udepur district.
