Gandhinagar: Thousands of those supporting the idea of renaming the city of Ahmedabad as Karnavati created number one trend on twitter nationally using #ISupportKarnavati tag through Monday, November 20.

#ISupportKarnavati was number one trend with addition of more than one thousand tweets per hour. Total number of tweets had crossed 20,000 figure on Sunday itself. Tweets were raining in support of Karnavati naming of city even on Tuesday.

Karnavati supporters seek renaming of Ahmedabad city as Karnavati, the earlier name given by ruler of then Gurjar Desh, Karnadev Solanki.

Undisputed history sources say, Ahmed Shah had demolished Hindu temple in Siddhpur town of North Gujarat, broken Hindu idols of gold and silver and replaced Siddhpur temple with a mosque. Ahmed Shah’s army had looted women beautiful like feathers of peacock, it had made people slaves from looted states ruled by Hindu rulers. Ahmed Shah was first Sultan of Gujarat who imposed Jajiya tax on Hindus according to other historical sources.
