New 10% quota regime to be implemented in more than 900 universities and over 40000 colleges across the country from this year, orders to be passed soon:PM Modi

Ahmedabad:PM Narendra Modi today said that the his government has taken several steps to provide security and equal opportunities to poor and middle class people in the country and due to its ‘firm political will-power’ it has also made provision for 10% reservation to poor people of general category without disturbing the earlier quota regime and the recent law would be implemented in all the over 900 universities and more than 40,000 colleges from this year’s session only.

Addressing the event to dedicate the Rs 750 crore state of the art SVP Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Modi said that demand of reservation to poor people rising above the caste or sect line was being raised for decades but the then governments lacked the political will for it. But the NDA government led by him has shown this firm political will and brought it. The earlier quota regime has also not been disturbed and the new regime would open the new doors of social harmony.

He also congratulated Gujarat government for becoming the first state to implement the new quota law. He said that the order for its implementation in all the colleges and universities would also be passed soon. The seats in educational institutions would also be increased by 10%.

PM Modi said that his government was resolute to provide equal opportunity to all so that no one, not even a single corner of the country lags behind in the race of development. This was the way of making new India and development of all with involvement of all for his government.

He also talked at length about the steps taken by his government for improvement of health facilities in the country. He said that under Ayushman Bharat Yojana every day 10 thousand poor people were being benefited. Due to steps like opening 5000 generic medicine centers and making cheaper the medical equipment like stent and knee Implant devices hundreds of crores of rupees of the poor and middle class people have been saved.
