Ahmedabad: A bus operated by the Amdavad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) caught fire this evening in the Jamalpur area.
The incident occurred around 6:30 pm when the bus on route no. 58 was en route to Paldi from Jamalpur Flyover and suddenly stopped near Museum Char Rasta. The driver got off the bus and observed fire and smoke. Before he could retrieve a fire extinguisher from the driver’s cabin, the fire ignited in the cabin. Driver Praveenbhai shouted and ensured the evacuation of passengers away from the bus to safety.
The fire engulfed the entire bus in a few minutes, resulting in its complete destruction. Preliminary findings from the driver suggest that the fire was caused by a wiring short circuit. DeshGujarat
