Gandhinagar: The Congress corporator of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, Ankit Barot who had mysteriously gone missing since yesterday evening, today appeared suddenly near Chiloda here and claimed that he was abducted by relatives of BJP MLA Ashok Patel.

Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation(GMC) is distributing daily 120 litre butter milk for free among its employees in field and citizens to counter the impact of heat.
The initiative kicked off on 18 April and it is going since then.
Main benificieries of this initiative are sweepers, drivers, health workers and other staff members of GMC, but they are not the only beneficiaries.

A Gujarati news channel VTV News has predicted Congress party's victory in Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation(GMC) polls, voting for which took place yesterday.
The channel claimed it conducted exit poll covering 1260 voters. As per the results of survey, Congress would get 18 to 20 out of total 32 seats in GMC while BJP will get 14 to 16 seats.

Around 51 % voters exercised their franchise during the polling for Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) which started at 8am and ended peacefully at 5 pm today.
District Collector cum Returning Officer Ravi Shanker said that as per primary figures the turn out was 51 percent. This may see some correction on complete compilation of data. Voting till 1 pm was approximately 30 % while by 4 pm, an hour before the closure it was 46.80%.

Voting on 32 seats of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation today began at a slow pace and later gained momentum, as about 30 per cent voter turnout was registered till 1 PM, officials said.
