In the video above is the Great Rann of Kutch in Gujarat, visited by tourists during the Kutch Rann Utsav tourism festival.

The Rann of Kutch possesses a unique geography due to it’s low terrain that attracts salty water from the Arabian sea inside the Rann in June every year. Salty water remains inside the Rann for around six months and after it’s evaporation, the Rann turns in to a white barren surface.

Every December on a full moon day, the Gujarat government organizes ‘Rann Utsav’ during which tourists grab their chance to visit the inside areas of the Rann of Kutch bordering Pakistan. A video above is an attempt to throw some light on this occasion.
