Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s Standing Committee today fixed entry fee rates for Kankaria Lake Front. The standing committee also decided fair for Kankaria Queen Mini Train ‘Atal Express’.

Entry ticket for Kankaria Lake Front will cost Rs 5 for 5 to 12 year old children and Rs 10 for everybody above 12. Free entry for children below 5 years. Handicapped persons, freedom fighters and senior citizens above 70 will get free entry(identity card required). Students participating in educational/school tour in a group will have to pay only Re. 1 per head(Principal’s letter mandatory).

Morning walkers will be able to enter free of cost during 4:00 to 8:00 a.m. Evening walkers will have to spend Rs 100 for monthly pass(valid during 7:00 to 11:00 pm).

After 4:00 am to 8:00 am morning walk session the lake front will remain closed for an hour(during 8:00 to 9:00 pm). Then after from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. the lake front will remain open for visitors. However after 10:00 p.m. new tickets will not be issued. From 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the lake front will remain closed. The lake front will also remain closed on Mondays(except from 4:00 to 8:00 am morning walk period).

Meanwhile Kankaria mini train’s rates are also fixed by the AMC. Each ticket would cost Rs. 10 for the children in age group of 3 to 12, while Rs. 25 for elders(above 12). Students above 12 would get Rs. 5 discount on producing their Identity card. Educational tour participants up to Higher Secondary level will get ticket for Rs 10 after producing principal’s letter. Children upto 3 years will get free ride in the train. However their parents will have to buy a ticket.

However visitors will have to be ready to spend some bucks more as Kankaria lake front has several other attractions too for which there are different tickets. For Kankaria Zoo Rs 10(elder) and Rs 5(for children), Balvatika Rs 3(elder) and Rs 2(children), Nagina wadi Rs 10, Fish House Rs 10(elder) and Rs 5(children), Boating Rs 10 and amusement park Rs 8(elder) and Rs 5(children).
