Speaking to media persons outside the Bhadrakali Mandir in Ahmedabad on Gujarati new year day morning, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi talked briefly with the media persons. Following is complete text of his Gujarati Hindu new year message:
“From Kashmir to Kanyakumar, from Atak to Cuttack, the festival of Diwali is celebrated with great joy and faith across the nation.”
“Diwali is celebrated marking the victory of truth against untruth, good deeds against bad deeds. This is the festival that celebrates a day when Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya after victory of Lanka.”
“In Gujarat, new year begins after Diwali, and there is a tradition to start something new in personal life, or in business.”
“Let this year be happy for you, and for your family.”
“At the same time, as this is a Golden jubilee year of Gujarat, it is a year to make pledge. In this new year, I wish that you take pledge for something good to your family, for the state, for the people, for the poor people, and let new year enlighten the golden jubilee year.”
Apart from Bhadrakali Mandir, Mr. Modi also spent time at Gandhinagar’s Panchdev Mandir. He also visited Raj Bhavan to greet Gujarat Governor. Mr. Modi attended two public greeting functions at Gandhinagar’s Ministerial enclave based community hall and at Shahibag Circuit house anexee campus in Ahmedabad. Modi also mixed with the senior police officials in their new year gathering function held at Police mess in Ahmedabad.
