Bhavnagar, 6 November, 2011
Once double-decker buses were on roads of the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat. Later Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service(AMTS) retired all double-Decker red buses. Nowadays there is not a single city in Gujarat that has double-Decker bus service. Some double-decker buses are there active on Mumbai roads in Maharashtra.
But soon one place in Gujarat will have double-Decker bus service.
VITCOS Transportation Pvt Ltd, a private city bus service provider that operates 65 city buses in Bhavnagar, has ordered two new double-decker buses to transport more people in a single trip. The service will start by middle of January 2012. The buses each costing Rs 35 lakh and having 70 seats will run on Gangajaliya talav – Bharatnagar and Gangajaliya talav – Kaliyabid routes.
