IAS Varun Maira’s photo exhibition on Bhutan from January 26th

Senior IAS officer of Gujarat cadre Shri Varun Maira’s photography exhibition on ‘Bhuta, the last Shangri La’ will be organized at Hutheesing centre in Ahmedabad on 26 January, 2012.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The proceds of the exhibition will be donated to India Renal Foundation, a voluntary not-for-profit health organization.
The exhibition will remain open from 27th January to 2nd February during 4 pm to 8 pm.
Varun Maira is a keen landscape photographer who held his first exhibition in 1996 at the State Art Gallery, Lalit Kala Academy in Ahmedabad. Shri Maira has been exhibiting his work regularly and has so far held seventeen exhibitions of his photographs in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Udaipur and Panjim at prestigious galleries like Piramal gallery-NAPA, Mumbai, Indian Habitat Centre, Delhi and Goa Kala Academy.
Shri Maira has written two coffee table books “Champaner-A medieval capital” in 2005 and “Dholavira – A Harappan Metropolis” in 2009.
An alumni of St. Stephen’s college and Delhi school of economics, Varun Maira completed his M.Phil in Economic Planning from University of Glasgow, U.K.
