Editor’s note

Other Backward Class(OBC)segment reportedly forms 55% of Gujarat’s total voters. To lure voters of this segment, Gujarat Congress has already started convening OBC conventions district wise. Two such conventions in Ahmedabad and Vadodara received good response. To oppose minority reservation from OBC quota, Gujarat BJP had convened a convention in an auditorium in Gandhinagar in which party’s national Vice President Shri Parshottam Rupala had urged the workers to go on street and oppose Congress party’s Sardar Sandesh Yatra. However next day only few BJP workers were seen on street in negligible number of dozen or two dozen , opposing Sardar Sandesh yatra at only few places. Following Congress party’s idea of holding district wise OBC conventions, the BJP has now decided to hold taluka wise OBC conventions.
