This is how Ahmedabad’s new ST bus station will look like next year

A massive reconstruction work of Ahmedabda’s Geeta Mandir based main terminal of state transport corporation is going on in full scale currently at a cost of Rs 250 crore. Target of completion of the project is March 2014.
GSRTC bus terminus at Geeta Mandir daily serves more than one and half lakh passengers. A new terminal will come up over 39682 square meter land which includes 20800 square meter buffer area reserved for future development purposes.
Reconstruction of Geeta Mandir terminus is part of GSRTC’s Rs 1000 crore PPP project with Mumbai based Hubtown Ltd(formerly known as Ackruti City Ltd) involving four bus terminus – Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat. As per an estimate, expected revenue from four new complexes will be around Rs 2000 crore.
Hubtown has rights to design, construct, operate and maintain the four terminals for thirty years in exchange of income from 84266 sqm commercial space and advertising rights. GSRTC offices that are part of present campus will function from a new ground+two floor building. The other floor will be allotted to developer for commercial purpose.
