Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram as the rupee touched a new all-time low and breached the Rs. 68 per dollar mark, saying lack of good governance, corruption and impropriety is responsible for the deteriorating condition of the Indian economy. Meanwhile, Prasad used the occasion to laud the BJP-ruled states, and claimed that Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Goa are having ten percent plus growth rate
Early elections only solution to suffering economy: Yashwant Sinha
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yashwant Sinha on Wednesday suggested that the country should go into early Lok Sabha elections to bail the economy out of its present slump, and said that the economic future under the Congress-led UPA Government looks bleak. Further, Sinha alleged that the Centre had no control over the way markets are presently behaving in the country. On Wednesday, the rupee continued to topple and hit its record low of 68.75 against the U.S. dollar.
