Samarjitsinh Gaekwad is new Maharaja of Baroda Cricket Association

Maharaja of Vadodara, Samarjitsinh Gaekwad has won prestigious Baroda Cricket Association(BCA) election defeating rival pharma baron Chirayu Amin by margin of 218 votes. Thus Gaekwad has ended 26 years long rule of Chirayu Amin over BCA. While this was 26th election for Amin, it was the first election for Gaekwad for the post of president of BCA. Samarjitsinh won 1066 votes while Chirayu Amin won 848 votes. Speaking to media persons briefly after his victory Samarjitsinh said that his top priority will be to ensure that Vadodara gets an international level cricket stadium through BCA. Counting for other posts is going on and may continue today and tomorrow.
