Dinsha said he had already conveyed his wish to party leadership in Delhi. He said he doesn’t want to contest again due to poor health. He said he would continue to stay in Congress party and support any other candidate selected by his party to contest from Kheda.

Dinsha won last Lok Sabha elections from Kheda seat in central Gujarat by thin margin.

Reacting to Dinsha’s today’s statement, Gujarat Congress president Shri Arjun Modhwadia said that Dinsha had conveyed his with to party’s state and central leadership six months back. He would finally obey the decision of Congress president smt Sonia Gandhi.

It is beleived that central leadership may appoint Dinsha or Siddharth Patel as state party chief to attract Patel voters to its fold.
