Zadafia to rejoin BJP, GPP to merge

Ahmedabad, 18 February 2014
It is learnt that Gujarat Parivartan Party(GPP) president Gordhan Zadafia has completed final phase of bargaining with BJP. He may rejoin the BJP by end of this month(likely on 25 February) in presence of state BJP president Faldu(and may be Chief Minister Narendra Modi).
Zadafia wanted something major in exchange of merger of his small political outfit GPP with BJP. He was particularly hoping for party ticket to contest either assembly(by-poll) or Lok Sabha(preferably from Bhavnagar). He had contested last Lok Sabha election from Bhavnagar independently. His performance was not bad. He single handedly crossed lakh vote figure, but only on the basis of ‘Patelism’. As many traditional Patel loyalists of BJP and most of the Kshatriya voters didn’t vote for him, BJP’s Kshatriya candidate won in Bhavnagar.
Thanks to his big ambitions, Zadafia almost wasted seven years of his political career without power. Modi had made him minister of state, but Zadafia had superior idea about self. He refused to take oath and showed rebel postures. Zadafia failed to get elected either to assembly or parliament after leaving BJP in year 2007. He contested Gondal assembly seat attempting Patel card in year 2012, but couldn’t win there. Zadafia was supported(behind curtain), but not inducted by Congress to its fold due to his 2002 background(Zadafia was minister of state for Home during 2002 riots). Aam Aadmi Party also refused to accept merger with GPP due to Zadafia’s 2002 background.
Zadafia will be able to serve the society in better way through BJP in future.
