Following is Gujarat BJP incharge Shri Om Mathur’s brief talk to media in Gandhinagar today afternoon on the sidelines of state BJP’s core committee meeting held at party headquarters. Chief Minister Narendra Modi was not part of this meeting, but senior ministers and party’s senior leaders on organization side remained present.
Om Mathur:
“The party functions as per its system. There’s a system in party. You stay assured, whoever is the succesor, he will take Gujarat ahead. Proper decision will be taken at proper time.”
“Such decisions are not taken haphazardly. I told earlier, this party doesn’t belong to one family or person. There’s a system in this party, and we will follow the system. Observers will come, central parliamentary board will meet, let first the results come, but stay assured that whatever shall be the decision, it will be the best decision, it will be taken within the party, and it will be in the interest of Gujarat’s development.”
“There are legal procedures involved. First results will be announce, then parliamentary party’s meeting will be held, the elected MPs of party will elect their leader, then President will extend invitation, in the meantime we will do (Gujarat) job.”
“During these elections, we made 20-25 page presidents, each targeting 40-50 voters in every booth. In each Lok Sabha constituency, about 32,000 party workers are involved. The Core committee meeting of party held in the morning today in Gandhinagar was informal in nature. It was held to meet party leaders and to hear their experiences.”
