He was in discussion ahead of his Gujarat visit due to number of hoardings and banners featuring him on main roads across Ahmedabad.

But when a day of his scheduled visit to Ahmedabad actually arrived, he failed to turn up!

Yes we are talking about Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who was absent today in states session of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2015.

Representatives of Uttar Pradesh on the sidelines of the session told media persons in Gandhinagar that Akhilesh was ready in Saifai(Uttar Pradesh) to fly to Ahmedabad to attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas function, but his flight couldn’t take off due to bad weather.

It should be noted here that due to fog, bad weather on any day in winter is predictable. Home Minister Rajnath Singh therefore arrived at Sardar Patel airport in Ahmedabad yesterday night to attend today’s function. Similarly Prime Minister Narendra Modi also arrived in Ahmedabad a day before and had a night-halt in Gandhinagar. Akhilesh’s absence is therefore being seen as lack of commitment and seriousness.
