Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pinstripe monogrammed suit that he wore during his meeting with US President Barack Obama is still in news, even after its auction.
Surat based Dharmanandan Diamond owner Laljibhai Patel who won this suit in auction paid amount of bid by cheque to Clean Ganga Fund. A photograph of this cheque(attached with this article) was put online by a journalist. As this photo with Laljibhai’s signature was viral on social media, someone in Haryana tried to withdraw Rs. 3 crore from Laljibhai’s HDFC account by copying the signature of Laljibhai.
Madhubhai Shamaldas Patel, Manager of Dharmanandan Diamond has filed complaint in Katargam police station in Surat in which he has stated that they received call from Hissar based HDFC bank in which bank manager asked whether the company had given cheque to LRC roadways that has account number 14332000001861. Bank Manager said that Rs. 3 crore cheque had arrived for clearing. Madhubhai was shocked to hear this because the number of cheque was in company’s cheque book only and it was not issued to anyone.
It is believed that a thug in Haryana saw Laljibhai’s cheque for Clean Ganga Fund in online media and used another number in that series with duplicate sign of Laljibhai. Bank Manager took initiative to call the company before giving clearance to cheque of such a big amount. Police is investigating the matter.
