Marriage certificate form filling process will go online soon in Ahmedabad.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) is in process to make this service available online soon.

Applicants will need to fill in the form online. He will need to take print out of form and visit ward office with prescribed evidences/documents. Ward clerk will issue a certificate. The entire process will take place in Online Passport service style. The city of Ahmedabad witnesses registration of over 40,000 marriages every year. Marriage registration takes place at 64 ward offices. The rule of marriage registration came into effect in January 2008 following a notification issued in year 2006. The online system is likely to be effective by mid of this year.

-Applicant uploads form on AMC website.
-Software will generate a special application number and send it on applicant’s mobile number.
-Marriage registrar and ward clerk will scrutinize the form online.
-Applicant will need to visit the ward office to submit physical evidences.
-Certificate will be issued.
