Installation of gates over Narmada dam likely to begin in October

Installation of gates over Narmada dam is likely to begin on October 15 at Sardar Sarovar site at Kevadia colony in Gujarat.
Out of 29 piers, block number 42, 45, 47, 48, 49 and 50 these six blocks have reached top height of 144.5 meter. Other piers are in range of 133 to 143 meter height at present. Construction work is going on war foot basis to take them to ultimate height by July 15.
One all of them reach 144.5 meter height, construction of bridge will kick off atop them.
In total 30 gates are to be installed. Each of 23 gates will be in measurement of 55 by 60 ft while 7 gates will be in size of 60 by 60 ft. Installation work is likely to begin on 15 October.
