Rajkot

Hardik Patel has created enough troubles for peace loving people of Gujarat since July/August this year. His caste fundamentalism oriented support base has drastically shrunk in recent past, and people no more bother about his claims and threats of agitations.

The latest threat he has issued is slogan chanting and protest during the India – South Africa one day international match which is to be played in Rajkot on October 18.

How this has created trouble for common cricket fan? Read on.

Saurashtra Cricket Association(SCA) today started selling tickets for the match in Rajkot. Generally, one would buy tickets for his entire group, but due to Hardik’s threats one person would get maximum only two passes. This has made queues at ticket windows longer.

While queues are longer, their progress is extremely slow, that too due to Hardik Patel and his strange kind of agitation.

Due to security reasons following Hardik Patel led Patidar agitation, each person who comes at ticket window needs to show his photo identity card and also provide its photocopy. Not just this, but a ticket buyer is photographed through web camera. This process takes some time and therefore queue progresses very slowly. This had made some ticket buyers angry following which police had to use lathi today afternoon.

Due to Patel threat, the Rajkot rural police had developed a software in which entire data of names, addresses, photographs and copy of identity card will be stored. The data will be searchable. It means, suppose in certain block of the stadium, some Patel youths create trouble, the police will be able to find out who are the person sitting in that block. The tickets are non-transferable and one who had purchased particular ticket will be considered culprit for any unwanted incident.

District police chief Gagandeep Gambhir visited the ticket window to take stock of the situation. She was satisfied that SCA was doing everything that was directed by police.

The ticket window was closed two hours prior to scheduled time due to the reason that police bandobast was withdrawn. As many as 24,000 tickets are to be sold from ticket window. Today only 2,000 tickets were sold.
