Congress stays exposed, must apologise: Gujarat BJP on Ishrat case
February 11, 2016
Gandhinagar
Gujarat BJP president RC Faldu and spokesperson IK Jadeja today in a statement slammed Congress party over revelations by Davin Headly over Ishrat Jahan who was encountered by Gujarat Police.
“David Headly’s revelations make it clear that the actions taken by BJP government at that time were valid and in national interest,” BJP said in a statement issued from its State headquarters in capital Gandhinagar.
“Five star NGOs, then UPA government and local Congress leaders were worldover defaming Gujarat and its government. Congress should reply now about what it did against the interest of nation. Congress should tell now that for what relation, it was holding flag of anti-national terrorists high in its hand,” BJP said in a statement.
Faldu and Jadeja sought apology of Congress for mud-sledging against then Chief Minister Narendra Modi, then Home Minister Amit Shah and Home Ministry and added that for small time political motives, Congress had forgotten national interest and given air to anti – Gujarat and anti-national elements by harboring them. The nation has given response to this in year 2014 which is clear by today’s revelation.
“Today’s development has made it clear that local Congress was shouting over baseless and unfortunate claims,” the statement reads.
