Rs 98 crore approved for construction of check dams in Kutch

Gujarat government has allocated close to Rs 98 crore sum for construction of check dams in water scarcity affected Kutch district.
More check dams will conserve more water in this arid district.
According to minister and local MLA Tarachandbhai Chheda, administrative approval for construction of 93 check dams in 4 talukas of Kutch has been granted.
Chheda said Rs 43.5 core sum has been allocated for construction of small check dams in 28 villages of Bhuj taluka. Similarly fund has been allocated for construction of 11 small check dams in Nakhatrana taluka, 20 in Rapar taluka and 25 in Khadir taluka with administrative approval.
