Man attacks collectors office in Rajkot at mid-night, arrested

A man, who attacked the collector’s office here late last night and broke downseveral window panes by continuous stone pelting to vent out his anger for alleged ‘non-hearing’ of his pleas regarding a land related matter for quite a long time, has been arrested.
Police today said that a complaint has been filed under section 447 (criminal trespass) and others pertaining to the damage of public property by deputy Mamlatdar Jai Rajvala in this connection.
The arrested person identified as Anil Oza, a resident of Sainik society in Jamnagar road of the city had earlier resorted to sit ins before the collector office and even tried to commit suicide by consuming poison owing to the alleged non-resolution of his land related matter of Gondal.
In the complaint lodged in Prahladnagar police station, it has been alleged that the attacker first tried to jump off the first floor of the collector office. Later in the presence of various administrative officers his memorandum addressed to the president was accepted and was let go on humanitarian grounds but at around 12 pm he suddenly started pelting stones heavily near the main entrance of the building which has a large portion of glass work. He was later caught by the police.
He has broken at least 20 glass panes causing damage to the tune of Rs 2 lakh as per the complaint.
