Live video: Gujarat CM dedicates Sudama Setu in Dwarka

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel is dedicating Sudama Setu hanging bridge connecting Gomti Ghat and Panchkui island in pilgrim town Dwarka built by Reliance Industries Ltd(RIL) in presence of Rajya Sabha MP and Dwarka Devasthan Trust’s Parimal Nathwani and other dignitaries. Panchkoi island was so far accessible only through boat ride. During rough sea, Panchkui island was not accessible. Boat ride was taking longer time. With construction of ‘Sudama setu’ hanging bridge,Panchkoi island is now closer, easier to access. The bridge has added to beauty of this pilgrim town as it is decorated with number of lights. Panchkui island is surrounded by sea on all sides but it is located just opposite busy Gomti Ghat behind Dwarkadhish temple. Panchkui island has five sweet-water wells even when it is located inside sea. The Chief Minister in her speech proposed museum on Panchkui island in partnership with Reliance. The Chief Minister pressed for cleanliness in Dwarka with joint efforts of people and government.
Speaking on this occasion Shri Parimal Nathwani said this has been memorable day in history of Dwarka town. He said Reliance Industries and Chairman Mukeshbhai Ambani has been always ready to extend his cooperation in development of this area. Earlier Gomti Ghat jirnoddhar, Dhirubhai Ambani road, new office etc works have been completed.
He proposed installation of escalator at Chhappan Sidi steps of Dwarkadhish Mandir so that visitors who visit using Moksha Dwar can also enter through Swarg Dwar which is original tradition. Nathwani announced cleanliness drive with latest equipment in Dwarka to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream.
He thanked Reliance’s Sanjiv Gupta, Mahesh Ghela, Atul Mehta, Ravi Parsoji, district collector office staff, municipality staff and temple staff, police staff for their hard-work.
