Rahul was sleeping during Una debate in parliament, now shedding crocodile tears: BJP
July 21, 2016
Gandhinagar: Gujarat BJP today slammed Congress and AAP for their attempt to spread divide and hatred in Gujarat.
Party spokesperson Bharat Pandya while criticizing Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi who was on visit to Gujarat today said, “yesterday when debate was going on regarding Una victims, Congress party’s Rahul Gandhi was sleeping. Today he is shedding crocodile tears. The people of Gujarat and country are watching it.”
“While there’s peace, unity and progress in Gujarat, this incident should not be made an election issue for Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Elections are scheduled in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, but Congress and Kejriwal want to contest the polls in those states via Gujarat. For any election in country, Gujarat is targeted which is not proper,” Pandya said further.
“Gujarat is peace loving state. BJP and people of Gujarat have stood by victims. Congress and Kejriwal should not attempt to spread divide between communities and hatred,” the BJP leader said in a statement.
The statement reads, “the incident in Una is not just a blot for one caste or person, but for the entire society. BJP had from beginning condemned it and said that it was a shocking and shameful incident for entire society. Gujarat government has taken strongest actions. 16 persons are arrested under stringent sections of IPC. 4 police men are suspended. Parliamentary secretary, ministers, members of parliament, MLAs, chairmen, Chief Minister have visited victims and offered them warmth, strength and assistance. The people of Gujarat and BJP government have stood by victims. Congress and Kejriwal should not make this a political issue. This is humanity issue.”
