CM Vijay Rupani inaugurates cashless donation system in Ambaji temple by swiping card

Palanpur: Even as many famous temples in Gujarat are also feeling the heat of the cash-crunch caused by demonetization with donations reportedly dipping by 30 to 60% since the scrapping of Rs 500/1000 notes earlier this month, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today inaugurated the cashless (through swipe machine) donation system in Ambaji temple, one of the most famous holy places in the state which is among the 51 shaktipeeths (power centers) of goddess Amba.
Chief Minister Rupani who visited the temple situated in Banaskantha district of North Gujarat with his wife and participated in the mangala aarti and performed puja, s;dp inaugurated the swipe machine installed by the temple management for cashless donation.
He used it for paying for flag hoisting (Dhwajarohan) and Prasad.
The temple which receives crores of rupees as donation has of late seen a considerable dip in it. The temple trust sources said that the donations has roughly come down by at least 30%. The new cashless facility will help it go up again.
By the end of December other famous temples in the state like Jagat temple in Dwarka, Somnath temple, Nageshwar, Bahucharaji, Ma Aashapura and Bhadrakali temples are also likely to install such machines to accept cashless donations.
ATM machines with cash deposit facility will also be installed in the premises of various temples.
