Film actor Shah Rukh Khan was today traveling in August Kranti train on Mumbai – Delhi route along with actress Sunny Leone to promote his upcoming film Raees. Shah Rukh’s social media team had announced the details of his arrival at Valsad, Surat, Vadodara and other railway stations on route well in advance. Accordingly, thousands of youths – many of them from his social media fan clubs had gathered at the railway stations to see his glimpse. When August Kranti train halted at Vadodara railway station, Shah Rukh came out of the coach, stood up at the door of rail coach for some time received garland and waved hand. Due to heavy over-rush at narrow platform, five to seven persons including one Assistant Sub Inspector, one constable of Railway police and two women were seen suffering from injury or breathlessness. Some of them were taken to medical care facility.

Police had to use light lathicharge to control the rush. After a train carrying Shah Rukh left the station, many footwears could be spotted scattered on railway platform. One youth with blood on his face was also seen. Many including some passengers were of opinion that using railway for film promotion was not perfect idea. Film promotion should take place at proper open place and not at narrow railway station. It not just creates inconvenience to passengers but also unsafe for fans of the actor.

Shah Rukh is on promotion tour for his upcoming film Raees in which he plays a role of bootlegger criminal based in Ahmedabad – Gujarat. Though Raees team denies it on official record, it is widely believed that Shah Rukh’s character is inspired by late Ahmedabad based liquor mafia and extortionist Abdul Lateef. The film has Pakistani actress playing role in pair with Shah Rukh Khan.
