Hindu God picture case: Teesta Setalvad seeks court permission to fly abroad

Ahmedabad: Controversial NGO operator Teesta Setalvad, wife of Javed Anand who face several cases including riot victims fund embezzlement case has sought court permission to visit abroad. Mumbai based Teesta who runs a foreign-funded NGO had posted image on twitter comparing Hindu Goddess Mahakali with international terror organization ISIS terrorist. As she attracted protest, she removed the photograph later. Several Hindu individuals had filed complaint against Teesta for this act. Teesta is presently on bail in this case. As per bail conditions, she needs to take court approval to fly abroad. In her plea before Sessions court in Ahmedabad, she has sought permission to visit Geneva in Europe for three months. Sessions Judge D.P.Mahida has issued notice to investigative officer and fixed February 16 as next date of hearing. Teesta claimed she has been invited by Human Right Commission in Geneva to conference for which she wants to stay abroad between 25 February and 25 May. DeshGujarat
