Return journey on Ahmedabad – Vadodara expressway to cost less from March 2017
February 24, 2017
Ahmedabad: For last one year or so IRB company which maintains Ahmedabad – Vadodara expressway – 1 has stopped issuing return tickets for journey. One side car journey on this expressway costs Rs 95 at present. The company had given logic that it was suffering loss on issuance of discounted return ticket(for both-side journey in 24 hours period) and there was no provision for discount in the contract signed with National Highway Authority of India(NHAI). Society for Affordable Resolution of Disputes had given order in favor of IRB in this regard which was challenged by NHAI in Delhi high Court. The Delhi High Court has on 2nd February in its order asked IRB to start giving discount on return journey again from the month of March. With implementation of this order, Ahmedabad-Vadodara return ticket will cost Rs 145 instead of Rs 190, Ahmedabad – Nadiad return ticket will cost Rs 65 instead of 90 while Ahmedabad – Anand return journey will cost Rs 90 instead of Rs 120.
