Narmada water in Aaji dam in June, bright chances for AIIMS at Rajkot: Rupani

Rajkot: Gujarat Chief Minister in his hometown and constituency area Rajkot flagged off Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC)’s BSIV Volvo bus service connecting Rajkot and Mumbai.

The Chief Minister dedicated district Nondhni Bhavan building. Rupani in his speech after inauguration of Kotharia sewage treatment plant and foundation stone laying function for new GSRTC bus port said there’s bright prospect of Rajkot getting the proposed All India Institute of Medical Science(AIIMS) hospital which has been announced in last union budget for Gujarat. Rupani said there will be no water cut in Rajkot this summer. Residents will get water for 20 minutes daily. He said Narmada water will start flowing into Aaji dam through SAUNI pipeline in the month of June this year.

Updated details:

– Rs 184 crore development works kicked off/dedicated at Rajkot including iconic bus port, Kotharia sewage treatment plant, underground gutter, new workshop at ITI, theory room, district nondhni bhavan.

– Insufficient rain from last two years but Rajkot city continues to get daily 20 minute water due to Narmada oriented scheme.

– By next June, Narmada water will start flowing in Aaji dam which is a heart of Rajkot. Thanks to Narendra Modi’s far-sight, SAUNI network is active now.

– Rajkot is going to get new Racecourse and new GIDC. There are bright chances for Rajkot to get All India Institute of Medical Science(AIIMS). Here are golden days for Rajkot.

– 14,000 buses are given to Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) by Gujarat government since 2005. Under Vijay Rupani as Chief Minister, 1600 buses are given to GSRTC every year. GSRTC operates 7200 buses at present carrying 23 lakh passengers every day of whom 7.5 lakh are students. GSRTC buses every day pass through 28 lakh km distance. 98% villages are covered by GSRTC. In future 500 Volvo buses are planned to be operated. Of 1600 new buses that are to be launched this year, 200 will be sleeper coach and 300 will be mini buses.

– Rs 100 crore new GSRTC bus port in Rajkot will have food zone, shopping mall and other facilities. While four bus ports are already started in Gujarat, 14 more are in pipeline.

– Gujarat is the first state to have BSIV buses in State Transport. GSRTC operates 50 Volvo buses. New BSIV buses are to be operated on long routes such as Rajkot – Mumbai, Ahmedabad – Pune, Surat – Jaipur via Ahmedabad.
