BJP wins Rajouri Garden assembly by-poll in Delhi, AAP at distant third position, loses deposit

New Delhi: BJP – SAD candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa has won Rajouri Garden by-poll in Delhi by margin of 14,652 votes leaving rival Congress candidate on second place and Aam Admi Party(AAP) candidate on distant third place.

This is a big blow to ruling AAP which had won this seat in the previous election with margin of over 10,000 votes. The margin last time is more or less equal to total number of votes gained by AAp this time. In fact AAP candidate has lost deposit as he has got less than 1/6 of votes polled. Ruling party candidate losing deposit is something unusual. The result very much indicates AAP’s future.

At the same time this is a great boost for BJP ahead of Municipal Corporation of Delhi(MCD) elections.

Kejriwal led AAP which surprisingly and shockingly attributes its defeat in Punjab and Goa assembly elections to electronic voting machines, now post its defeat in Rajouri Garden claims that shifting of its sitting MLA Jarnail Singh from Delhi to Punjab politics was the reason why people were upset with AAP in this particular constituency.
