Gujarat Science City to have new aquatic and robotic galleries

Ahmedabad: Gujarat government is mulling to set up aquatic life science gallery and robotics gallery at Science city in Ahmedabad. Both projects are already granted administrative approval and works are handed over to designing agency. The government has allocated Rs 90 crore sum as initial fund.
After tendering process for concept design and detailed design, Tata Consulting has been assigned the task of robotic gallery while INI design has been assigned task of aquatic gallery. The projects are likely to go for construction within this year and complete in next three years.
Rs 200 crore aquatic life science gallery will have 200 meter pass through transparent tunnel to showcase various types of fishes. Rs 120 crore robotic gallery will not just showcase various types of robots but will also offer activity space to assemble and make robots. It will also have caffe run by robots.
Gujarat Science city at present attracts around five lakh visitors per year. With new attraction it is likely to attract around twenty lakh visitors.
