Temperatures soar across Gujarat, Gandhinagar record highest 44°C

Ahmedabad: The temperatures soared across the state today as predicted by met department with Gandhinagar remaining hottest at 44°C.

At least 11 places recorded temperatures in excess of 40°C with 10 seeing above 41°C yet the met department lifted the heat wave warnings for tomorrow which was very much in its bulletin yesterday. Idar was the second hottest place with 43.4°C today.
Ahmedabad remained third hottest place across the state with a maximum of 43°C, which was 1.3°C above normal. The minimum at 29.7°C was 2.1°C above normal.

The wind pattern has changed to Westerly to Northwesterly yet there seemed no respite from humidity and perspiration. Ahmedabad recorded the maximum relative humidity of 66%.
Thundershowers and some rain was witnessed in Mahisagar district of central Gujarat. Weather in most other parts of the state remained dry.
