4 nabbed in central Gujarat with scrapped 500/1000 notes of face value of 16 lakhs

Four people have been nabbed with scrapped Rs 500 and 1000 notes of face value of Rs 16 lakh in Anand town of central Gujarat.
PSI J A Saikh today said that based on a tip off during a search of vehicles near Borsad crossing last night the four people were nabbed. Two of them came seated on a motorcycle with a bag full of scrapped notes (1100 of Rs 1000 denomination of face value of Rs 11 lakhs and 1000 of Rs 500 of face value of Rs 5 lakhs totaling Rs 16 lakh). They along with the other two seated in a car, to whom the bag was being delivered were nabbed.
Those who brought the notes are residents of Vadodara while the two caught receiving the bag are from Kheda and Anand.
It is understood that they had brought the note for change on a commission.
