BJP heading towards another ‘very good’ victory in Gujarat: Arun Jaitley
September 19, 2017
Ahmedabad: Union Finance Minister, Senior BJP leader cum election in-charge of the party in Gujarat Arun Jaitley, who was here to participate in the extended executive meet of the party, today said that the party which was continuously winning in Gujarat since 1995 was again heading towards a ‘very good’ victory.
He said that the agenda for BJP was development only and it was moving ahead in Gujarat irrespective of who is leading the government in the state.
During the meet in which co-in-charge and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, CM Vijay Rupani, DyCM Nitin Patel, BJP state president Jeetu Vaghania, Gujarat BJP in-charge Bhupendra Yadav and Jt general secretary (organization) V Satish and other union and state ministers and others were also present, Jaitley also attacked opposition Congress saying it was indulged in spreading lies.
Jaitley said,’ BJP was winning in Gujarat since 1995 and would win this time around as well. Our party and Narendra Modi ji made the successful vision of the development of Gujarat which turned out to be a model for others. In 2002 despite many challenges the party won in Gujarat. In 2007 and 2012 also we won. The party again was heading towards a very good victory again. I am overseeing assembly election fourth time and I have full faith that BJP will see yet another consecutive win.”
He also attacked Congress for its dynastic leadership. ‘ The party was concerned only about dynastic leadership and was not coming out of it. The sycophancy of one family and its members had become the order of the party where talent and merit has no value. Now is the time of new India when talents form even smaller places were coming forward. But the Congress has only one concern and that is of one family. Whenever a party follows such policy it is harmed by the mistakes of the family and its members.
He said that BJP under PM Modi was in development mode. In the last three years even our opponents could not level any charge of corruption on our government. He said that even if Congress and opponents do a lot of research about the functioning of our government and go on to speak lies they could not be able to level even a single charge of corruption.
He said that the agenda for BJP was development only and it was moving ahead in Gujarat irrespective of who is leading the government in the state. ‘One agenda of development has been set in the party. Firstly CM Modi led Gujarat and then Anandiben and now Vijaybhai. The work on development agenda was on irrespective of whoever leads,’ he said.
Jaitley also said that the country was being led by PM Modi while BJP was by Amit Shah and under their leadership the party was doing well.
. The situation in Kashmir was also changing. Our government also showed no politically lax attitude during Doklam standoff, he added.
Thee extended meet of the party which is held every three month also discussed the party events for the next three months and various election and organization related issues. Three resolutions including the one regarding Narmada project were also passed in the meeting.
Various party office bearers, MPs, Board-corporation chairman, poll observers and in-charges were also present in the meet.
