Leader of Opposition in Gujarat assembly Paresh Dhanani and Congress state president Bharat Solanki today had a meeting with party president Rahul Gandhi here.

After the meeting Solanki said that the issues pertaining to the preparations for Loksabha election of 2019 and the coming first budget session of Gujarat assembly were discussed.

Dhanani said that the review of recent assembly polls result was also done.

‘Rahul ji expressed his gratitude to the people of Gujarat even though by the arithmetic we finished a few seats shorter than the majority. We lost several seats by thin margins and we discussed this also. The issues related to the preparation for mission 2019 were also discussed,’ he said.

To a query about any discussion about possibility of change of faces in the state congress organization including its leadership in the meeting, Dhanani without giving any clear reply only said that it was important to change the strategy rather than changing the faces. ‘By changing the faces alone the system can’t be reformed,’ he said.
