BJP leaders including CM, DyCM, Union Minister Maneka Gandhi offer floral tribute to Ambedkar

BJP leaders including CM Vijay Rupani, Dy CM Nitin Patel and Union Minister Maneka Gandhi today offered floral tribute to Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar at various places across Gujarat on his birth anniversary even as some of the opposition supported so-call Dalit outfits organized ‘dramatic’ purification events of the statues after it at several places.
CM Vijay Rupani offered floral tribute to Ambedkar statue in the state secretariat campus. Minister for Social Justice and empowerment Ishwar Parmar, MoS Home Pradipsinh Jadeja were also present on the occasion
On the occasion he said that Ambedkar did not belonged to any particular community and he was the leader of the whole nation.
Deputy CM Nitin Patel garlanded Ambedkar statue in his home-town Mahesana. Some so called dalit outfits later organized a purification event and washed the statue as a mark of protest.
In Vadodara too, some of the opposition supported dalit outfits created ruckus during the event organized near race-course circle. Union Minister Maneka Gandhi also garlanded the statue.
In Ahmedabad, police detained some of the protestors in Saragpur area who were opposing the garlanding of Ambedkar statue by local BJP MP Kirit Solanki, MoS Vibhavariben Dave and Mayor Gautam Shah.
Interestingly, Congress supported Independent MLA Jignesh Mewani who had announced to oppose the BJP leaders going to pay tribute to Ambedkar himself postponed one of his pre-scheduled road blockade in Kutch district and himself garlanded the statue there.
