Seychelles president Danny Faure arrives Gujarat, will participate in various events

Ahmedabad:
Seychelles president Danny Faure arrived here this evening and will visit the Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and the historic Sabarmati Ashram here and Gujarat Forensic Science University (GFSU) in Gandhinagar before leaving for Goa tomorrow.
Faure was received at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport here by Additional chief secretary of General Administration Department of government of Gujarat, Ms Sangita Singh and Joint secretary Jwalant Trivedi.
Ahmedabad collector Vikrant Pandey and Police commissioner A K Singh were also present on the occasion.
An official of the protocol department said that the visiting president will visit the IIM-A in the morning. He is likely to hold a private meeting with the IIMA director and his long time friend Prof Errol D’Souza. At GFSU,he will meet over a dozen police officers from his country who were under training.
The trip of Faure is taking place at a time when Seychelles Parliament has reportedly blocked planned joint Indian Naval Base at one of its islands and also several important strategic ties were at stake.
