Rajkot/New Delhi:
‘Aggrieved’ Senior Congress leader and MLA from Jasdan in Gujarat, Kuvarji Bavaliya today had a meeting with party president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi in presence of state in-charge Rajiv Satav.
Bavaliya later said that he had two agendas for the meeting. One was about the meeting of leaders of Koli community from poll-bound Rajasthan, MP and Chattisgarh with Gandhi and second one was about the issue of ignoring of several senior party leaders in Gujarat.
‘I told him that the party should take benefit from the experience of senior leaders and they should not be ignored.Rahul ji assured me of ensuring this.’
Bavaliya also said that he has no plans to quit the party ‘as of now’ and would see what steps the party takes to stop the ignore of senior leaders in Gujarat. He also said that he was not going to contest Loksabha polls.
Bavaliya said that he was also the president of a pan India outfit of Koli community Akhil Bhartiya Koli Samaj and the Samrasta meeting proposed in Bichhiya in his constituency on Sunday was about the unity of the community and to sort out some differences. ‘It has nothing to do with politics as such,’ he said.
He said that the prominent Koli leaders from the poll bound 3 states would meet Rahul ji soon with him.
Bavaliya clarified that he had gone to Delhi today to meet Rahul Gandhi at a call from high command.
