Passengers sit on dharna at departure terminal of Ahmedabad airport protesting delay in flight

Ahmedabad: Go Air Ahmedabad to Chennai flight G8 – 912 was last night delayed for over 8 to 9 hours.The flight was scheduled to take off at 10.30 pm. It could however left for Chennai only little before 8.00 am (as per flightstatus 7.45 am). The flight will reach Chennai post 1o.00 pm instead of scheduled time of 1.00 am.
There were around 140 passengers aboard including women, senior citizens and children. They had to spend night at departure terminal. Passengers on social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook posted photographs and videos in which they could be seen sitting on dharna, sleeping on chairs and even on surface, shouting slogans and giving protest speech before the Go Air staff.
The first set of complains were regarding absence of proper information, the second set of complains was regarding behavior of Go Air ground staff, the third set of complain was regarding provision of compensation. Passengers in their social media posts complained about ‘rude beyond measure’ behavior by Go Air staff, ‘sleeplessness and hunger’, ‘wasting of time’, ‘absence of senior officials’, ‘nonavailability of exact information regarding flight’s departure’ and more.
