No relief to Ahmed Patel in Rajya Sabha election case, next hearing on November 19

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court has rejected Rajya Sabha member and national treasurer of Congress party, Ahmed Patel’s demand to dismiss a plea filed by BJP leader Balwantsinh Rajput against his Rajya Sabha election victory and fixed November 19 as next date of hearing. BJP candidate Balwantsinh Rajput had filed plea in the High Court challenging Rajya Sabha election verdict. Ahmed Patel had been declared victorious against Rajput in Rajya Sabha election last year after high-voltage political drama also involving the Election Commission of India. Rajput has challenged the verdict in the High Court.
