ACB nabs SSNNL engineer for taking bribe from retired clerk of his own office

Surendranagar: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today nabbed a class-1 executive engineer of Sardar Sarovar Narmda Nigam Ltd and his junior clerk for taking bribe of Rs 2000 from a retired employee of his office.
Assistant Director of ACB D P Chudasama said that executive engineer of Saurashtra branch canal in Dhranghadra division Mahesh D Patel had sought bribe from a retired head clerk of his own office for formalities regarding pension as per seventh pay commission and also payment of bills related to leaves. He had earlier paid Rs 3000 while today he was paying Rs 2000 to the junior clerk Pratik J Rathwa in a hotel in Surendranagar.
The ACB team nabbed him red handed accepting the bribe and talking over phone to Patel who was also arrested.
